Digital Workers Put State’s Department of Transportation on the Road of Success

State’s Department of Transportation faced the challenge of standardizing processes across multiple districts while integrating new mobile IT platforms and sensor-equipped infrastructure. To identify scalable, non-disruptive automation opportunities, the Department partnered with SS&C Blue Prism to deploy intelligent automation and Blue Prism digital workers.

The Department stood up an internal IT business unit and used SS&C Blue Prism digital workers to automate repetitive tasks (for example, a finance employee trained a digital worker to handle journal entries) and to build a geospatial map of small businesses for local sourcing. The SS&C Blue Prism implementation improved citizen experience and employee satisfaction, enabled faster and more accurate data sharing, increased operational efficiency, and generated cost savings that can be reinvested into the state’s roadways.
