Digital Workers Keep Orders on Track at King’s College Hospital

KFM, the commercial services arm of King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, needed a way to manage thousands of daily orders and quickly identify overdue deliveries and problematic invoices for one of London’s busiest teaching hospitals. To solve this, KFM engaged SS&C Blue Prism and deployed a digital workforce (Blue Prism digital workers) to automate order tracking and invoice validation.

SS&C Blue Prism’s digital workers automatically contact suppliers for updates on late orders, scan replies to match purchase orders and route them to the correct department, and reject invoices that exceed agreed amounts. The automation reduced time between order and delivery from eight days to three (63% faster), rejects about 10 overpriced invoices per day, and delivers approximately £365,000 in annualized savings while improving supply certainty.
