Waitrose & Partners, a UK grocery retailer, needed to make promotions fresh, relevant and timely while freeing staff to focus on customers and strategic work. Managing a rolling cycle of thousands of promotions every four weeks (with an eight-week lead time) was labour-intensive and constrained the team, so Waitrose turned to SS&C Blue Prism and its intelligent automation digital workers to increase efficiency and scalability.
SS&C Blue Prism deployed digital workers to review promotion proposals, enrich and enter offer details into internal systems, and push data to point-of-sale and shelf-labeling software. The automation helped Waitrose meet peak demand, process promotions accurately and consistently, and returned about 400 hours back to the business—enabling employees to spend more time on planning, forecasting and value-added activities.
