Banner Health Streamlines Pharmacy Reimbursements and Experiences Cost Savings

Banner Health, a large not-for-profit healthcare system, needed to manage and audit participation in the federal 340B drug pricing program—a complex, compliance-heavy process that required many full-time employees and was prone to human error. To address this challenge Banner Health engaged SS&C Blue Prism and its digital worker technology to help automate pharmacy reimbursement audits.

SS&C Blue Prism deployed a digital worker called B2D2 to manage and validate pharmacy reimbursements and 340B program compliance; since January 2020 B2D2 has processed over 250,000 records, returned more than 1,500 staff hours to the organization, enabled multiple recurring audits that staff could not previously perform, and produced a positive financial impact for Banner Health.
