Banner Health Migrates Millions of Electronic Medical Records with a Blue Prism Digital Workforce

Banner Health, a not-for-profit network of 30 hospitals serving over one million members, faced the massive task of consolidating Electronic Medical Records from 30 separate legacy systems into a single document repository — an effort impractical to perform manually. To solve this, Banner partnered with SS&C Blue Prism and deployed Blue Prism intelligent automation, including a digital worker called LEMR (comprised of five EMR bots), to automate the migration.

SS&C Blue Prism’s LEMR automatically retrieved patient information, generated charts, and archived required data into the new repository; since deployment the digital workforce handled 72 million records in two years, returned 1.2 million hours to the business, and now operates as 43 digital workers across 20 departments, freeing staff to focus on patient care.
