Aneurin Bevan Updates Over One Million Vaccination Records Using Intelligent Automation

NHS Aneurin Bevan Health Board, which serves about 600,000 people in Wales, faced difficulty verifying patients’ COVID-19 vaccination status because central vaccination data wasn’t integrated into its Clinical Portal, slowing triage and risk assessment. To solve this, the Health Board engaged SS&C Blue Prism to use its Blue Prism digital workforce (RPA) to automate the migration and updating of vaccination records.

SS&C Blue Prism deployed eight digital workers to pull patient vaccination data from the PAS, create documentation, and upload it into the Health Board Clinical Portal. The bots processed records in roughly 28 seconds each (versus about two minutes manually), clearing a backlog of over one million records in eight weeks and ultimately uploading more than 1.5 million records—giving frontline staff immediate, up-to-date vaccination status, reducing COVID-19 risk and improving triage efficiency.
