Sport Chalet, a Southern California sporting-goods retailer with more than 50 stores and 3,000+ employees, relied on a four-person training team to keep dispersed staff current on rapidly changing inventory and promotions. Gathering employees for in-person sessions was costly and slow, and producing and shipping long training DVDs meant new products often arrived on the sales floor before training did.

By adopting Bloomfire, Sport Chalet now uploads short, searchable videos and resources that employees can access on iPads or phones, and uses analytics to track who’s viewed what. Production and distribution time fell from 4–5 weeks to under a week, the company shifted from ~15 long videos a year to dozens of 1–2 minute clips, and training has become faster, more engaging and easier to measure.
