Anida, part of BBVA, faced a pressing challenge after the financial crisis: manage and dispose of a large portfolio of repossessed real-estate assets quickly to reduce bad debt and remove toxic assets from BBVA’s books. The real-estate unit required a completely independent, agile IT architecture to automate end-to-end processes—from admission of properties through management and commercialization—and deliver fast, auditable, KPI-driven results within a six-month target.

Anida chose Bizagi’s BPM solution (with EY supporting process design) to rapidly automate admission processes and integrate with existing systems. The team deployed 12 admission processes in a record 19 weeks (five weeks ahead of plan); two years later 42 processes were automated and nearly 1,000 employees used the platform. Outcomes included faster admission cycles, full traceability and auditability, improved process control and KPIs, better reporting and forecasting, and a scalable foundation that enabled wider BPM adoption across the business.
