Nero Blanco Utilizes MigrationWiz to Consolidate Tenants for Global Communications Leader Wunderman Thompson

Wunderman Thompson, a global creative, data, and technology agency with more than 20,000 employees in 90 markets, needed to consolidate multiple cloud and on-premises environments after the 2018 merger of J. Walter Thompson and Wunderman. In fall 2019, WPP moved its network to a single Microsoft 365 tenant, and the largest tenant under the Wunderman Thompson brand contained nearly 15,000 users across Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams. The company worked with BitTitan and Nero Blanco to manage the scale and complexity of the migration.

BitTitan and Nero Blanco used MigrationWiz to migrate all 15,000 mailboxes and 161 terabytes of data, plus nearly 12,000 OneDrive accounts containing another 350 terabytes. The teams used a 9-week pre-stage approach and PowerShell scripting to improve visibility, validate data, and monitor status, then completed the cutover on a single weekend with minimal end-user issues on Monday morning.
