How 116 restaurants stayed in-tune with daily customer experience

Blaze Pizza, a fast‑casual pizza chain growing to 116 locations, faced the challenge of keeping consistent, high‑quality customer experiences while opening a new store roughly every five days. To capture and act on the growing volume of online feedback and measure performance across locations, Blaze partnered with Birdeye and deployed Birdeye Insights and Benchmarking to monitor NPS, review sites, social media and mystery shopping and to track key operational categories.

Using Birdeye, Blaze centralized daily feedback, assigned keyword‑driven categories, and converted unstructured reviews into actionable NPS and reports for corporate and franchise teams. Within 12 months they maintained a 4.3‑star average across 116 locations (17,359 reviews from 19 sites), saw 2x more locations and 175% more reviews, and demonstrated the business impact of reputation—stores rated 4.4+ had 15% same‑store sales growth while those below 4.0 experienced negative growth—enabling faster expansion and sustained competitive advantage.
