Matahari, Indonesia’s largest retail platform, wanted to boost sales and improve engagement as results from SMS and email campaigns declined. Working with Bird (formerly MessageBird) and using WhatsApp plus Flow Builder, the retailer looked for a way to reach its 1.75 million customers with more effective two-way marketing.

Bird helped Matahari run large-scale WhatsApp campaigns, target loyal customers with personalized offers, and detect spam to improve support efficiency. The results were strong: over 15 million marketing messages were sent with a 98% delivery rate, and conversion reached 6.5%—about 2.5x the industry average.
