Southeastern Freight Lines, a leading LTL transportation company, was burdened by manual processing of paper checks and remote deposits: 13 cash-application staff faced posting delays up to two days, frequent credit holds, customer-service issues, and the need for extra help on payment-heavy days. To address this, they evaluated and selected Billtrust’s payment data extraction and remittance processing solution.
Billtrust implemented automated extraction of payment data and remittances, batch check deposits, ERP posting, and electronic image storage. As a result, Southeastern Freight Lines reduced cash-application headcount to three, virtually eliminated manual data entry, repurposed personnel to strategic projects, improved customer-service responsiveness, and cut annual A/R costs by $86,400.
