Ward Transport and Logistics, a family-owned transportation company headquartered in Pennsylvania with more than 1,400 employees, needed to scale by reducing manual work and automating credit card and ACH payment processing to make it easier for customers to pay and lower interchange fees. They selected Billtrust and its Business Payments Network (BPN) to modernize payments and remittance handling.

Billtrust implemented BPN — including its bi-directional portal and Digital Lockbox — to automatically capture, apply and consolidate ACH, wire and card payments and deliver invoices into 175+ AP portals. As a result, Ward automated more than $80M in payments, saw a 600% growth in average ACH monthly remit volume (from ~$2M and <100 payments to about $12M and 1,600+ payments per month), saved 1,300+ hours YTD, and improved cash flow and payment accuracy.
