Codecool selects high-performers more efficiently with Benchmark.games

Codecool, an international programming education provider with campuses in four countries, needed a better way to assess candidates during admissions. Its existing logic tests were long, frustrating, and hard to trust, and the team was unsure whether they actually predicted who would become high-performing students and developers. Codecool turned to Benchmark.games’ game-based assessment to find a faster, more engaging, and more reliable evaluation method.

Benchmark.games first ran alongside Codecool’s existing tests, then replaced them as the company standardized its selection process across locations. The game-based assessment became a key part of the final decision, alongside the interview, and the whole admissions flow was shortened to just a few days. Codecool reported saving 30–45 minutes per candidate, reducing resource-heavy pre-interview testing, improving acceptance of interviewed candidates from about 50% to around 75%, and creating a better candidate experience.
