Wanimo.com, a leading online pet-supply retailer in France serving passionate pet enthusiasts, aimed to boost customer engagement and conversion. To do this it launched Bazaarvoice Ratings & Reviews in June 2009 to let shoppers read and write peer reviews on product pages.
By comparing product-page visitors who engaged with reviews to those who did not (Jan–mid-Feb 2010), Wanimo found that review-engaged shoppers converted 85% more often and spent 68% more per visit; they also spent 181% more time on site and viewed 133% more pages per visit. In short, customer reviews deepened engagement and delivered measurable business results.
