HARMAN’s JBL launched a new line of wireless headphones developed with Under Armour to meet athletes’ demand for sport-focused audio, but faced a common retail challenge: how to generate high-quality, credible review content at product introduction when no precedent existed. JBL needed reviews that demonstrated real-world use and benefits to drive consumer confidence and retail sales.
JBL used Bazaarvoice Sampling and Managed Services to match products with targeted participants, build detailed reviewer profiles, and rapidly syndicate incoming reviews to its site and major retailers. The program drove strong pre-orders and faster uptake, produced over 100 detailed reviews averaging 4.5 stars (many with photos), improved SEO, and delivered participation rates and review quality that JBL will now incorporate into future launches.
