LendingTree, a leading U.S. online lending marketplace that connects consumers with multiple competing lenders, sought to increase engagement with its loan request form—the critical first step for shoppers to receive offers—and to build trust so borrowers could confidently choose a lender.

In July 2009 LendingTree added Bazaarvoice Ratings & Reviews, surfacing customer reviews for more than 200 lenders. Over a three-month test, visitors who read reviews were 83% more likely to start the loan process than those who did not; the company reports the reviews added context and confidence and is continuing to analyze their impact on final lender choice.
