Evans Cycles Increases Product Page Search Traffic By 23%

Evans Cycles, the UK’s largest independent bicycle and cycling gear retailer, had already deployed Ratings & Reviews and Ask & Answer to capture user-generated content (UGC). To maximize the SEO benefits of UGC and keep product pages fresh for search engines, they looked for a way to surface review text directly on product pages to drive more organic search traffic.

In July 2010 Evans implemented Bazaarvoice SearchVoice Inline (SVI), which embeds the first reviews into product-page code. In the 12 weeks after launch product-page search visits rose 23%, keyword reach grew 14%, and one model (“Diamondback Venom”) saw a 361% increase in search visits; the retailer is now extending SVI to customer Q&A.
