DSW, a designer- and brand-name shoe and accessories retailer with more than 500 stores, faced a common e-commerce challenge: how to give online shoppers the same visual style guidance and confidence they get in stores. As Alison Wagner, Digital Product Specialist at DSW, says, customers asked for “more on-the-foot photography, more style guidance, more ‘how-to-wear’ kind of content.”
To solve this, DSW implemented Bazaarvoice Curations to showcase consumer-generated images across its homepage, product and brand pages, and complemented it with Bazaarvoice Ratings & Reviews while promoting social sharing with #MyDSW and in-store prompts. Within six months a majority of visitors engaged with the visual content; those shoppers were more than twice as likely to purchase, spent substantially more per order, millions viewed the combined content, and revenue per visitor doubled.
