Saturn, a leading German electronics retailer with both 158 stores and a large online catalog, needed to increase online sales while reducing the workload of managing consumer-generated content across hundreds of thousands of SKUs. Their in-house reviews system couldn’t scale or provide the evaluation and moderation capabilities required, so they sought a more efficient solution to process higher volumes of customer reviews.
In 2016 Saturn implemented Bazaarvoice Ratings & Reviews and tapped the Bazaarvoice Network to syndicate brand-collected reviews, while Bazaarvoice’s moderation team enforced guidelines and surfaced actionable insights. The change delivered thousands of new reviews (about two‑thirds of products now have network reviews and roughly half of all ratings come from it), cut moderation effort, and drove strong results—customers who interact with reviews are 212% more likely to buy, an Oral‑B toothbrush doubled sales after 400 reviews, and Kaspersky saw a 27% conversion lift after 6,000 reviews.
