EGO, the cordless outdoor power equipment brand from Chervon launched in 2013, faced the typical newcomer challenge: no online content, low brand awareness, and no compelling way to demonstrate product quality to retailers or shoppers. The company needed to capture and showcase customer feedback—both written reviews and visual content—to build credibility and tell its story.
EGO deployed the Bazaarvoice platform—Ratings & Reviews to collect and syndicate reviews, Curations to surface customer photos and videos from social channels, and Advertising to target in-market shoppers—while using the platform to respond to customers on retailer sites. The program boosted online conversion, raised EGO’s average rating (leading at The Home Depot), delivered a 200% lift in brand consideration from a 2016 ad campaign, and helped the brand rapidly grow demand to the point of frequent inventory shortages.
