Argos collects over 20k reviews with Sampling program

Argos, a leading UK digital retailer selling more than 60,000 products across web, app and stores, faced the challenge of increasing sales and accelerating supplier insights across a huge catalogue—especially getting new products to go live with reviews rather than waiting weeks to collect them organically.

Argos partnered with Bazaarvoice Sampling and Ratings & Reviews to create the Argos Testers programme, inviting targeted customers to try products and leave reviews. The 5,200 testers have posted over 20,000 reviews across 3,500 products since 2015; tester reviews are twice as long and more often marked helpful (40% vs 28%). Sampling delivered measurable business impact—brands reported faster product insight and sales uplift, and shoppers who interact with consumer-generated content saw conversion increases of 53% on mobile, 51% on desktop and 45% on the app.
