Trace Die Cast needed to automate machine tending at its Bowling Green, Kentucky facility to accept parts placed in a variety of positions and locations and to handle parts with extreme precision. Trace Die Cast turned to Bastian Solutions and deployed a robotic machine-tending solution built around a FANUC M-20iA robot, iRVision vision guidance, a custom part‑gripping end‑of‑arm tool, human‑machine interface, and specialized product conveyors.

Bastian Solutions implemented the integrated robotic cell to automate the machining workflow, eliminating human error and enabling accurate handling regardless of part orientation or position. The system allowed Trace Die Cast to remove one operator per shift and noticeably ease the remaining operators’ workloads, delivering repeatable precision, improved productivity, and higher quality through Bastian Solutions’ robotics, vision and custom tooling.
