Cargill’s California, Missouri turkey facility needed to automate its case palletizing while working inside a very small footprint, integrating the new system with an existing manual palletizing operation and meeting an expedited installation window over a 3-day weekend to avoid downtime and reduce labor costs. Cargill engaged Bastian Solutions to provide a dual-line infeed robotic palletizing system for this project.

Bastian Solutions deployed a turnkey robotic palletizing solution — including two ABB IRB 660 250 kg robots with IRC5 controllers, Hytrol conveyors, a compression end-of-arm tool, Allen-Bradley PLC control, barcode scanning, and pallet handling equipment — and completed installation over the planned 3-day weekend. The Bastian Solutions system delivered successful dual-line integration, eliminated the need for a packaging operator, enabled 24/7 plant operation, and reduced overall labor requirements.
