A Barracuda Networks Case Study
Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, a nonprofit founded in 1974 that provides services to victims of domestic violence, needed to protect highly sensitive client data and maintain trust after a hacker breached its network. With just one IT manager and a limited budget, the organization required a cost-effective, easy-to-manage solution for secure remote access and protection against data loss, malware, and spam.
They deployed the Barracuda SSL VPN 380, which provided plug-and-play setup, no per-user fees, granular access controls, auditing, malware scanning, and integration with Active Directory. The appliance reduced administrative overhead, enabled secure remote work, and restored confidence in the shelter’s ability to protect client information—backed by responsive support—allowing the organization to ensure business continuity.
