Linkage Community Trust is a UK charitable organisation founded in 1976 that provides educational, support and residential services to around 650 young people with learning disabilities. After migrating to Office 365 the trust was hit by a flood of phishing attacks and had previously experienced exposed credentials, creating an urgent need for stronger email protection and security-awareness training—while remaining highly cost-sensitive.
Linkage deployed Barracuda Total Email Protection (including Essentials, Sentinel, PhishLine, and Forensics & Incident Response) as a single-vendor solution, with Barracuda adjusting the package to meet budget constraints. The result is a multilayered defence that has blocked large volumes of phishing (Sentinel), begun raising staff awareness through simulations (initial benchmark: 40 users clicked, 12 submitted credentials), enabled easy email remediation, and delivered a marked improvement in overall security.
