Keolis, a Dutch regional public-transport operator running several hundred buses and serving millions of passengers annually, needed a secure, reliable public Wi‑Fi solution. The challenge was to provide fast onboard connectivity and encrypted VPN links to the datacenter for infotainment updates while protecting each bus from internet-based hacking and DDoS attacks — all in a cost-effective, scalable way.

Keolis partnered with ICT Vision to deploy Barracuda Secure Connector SC1 appliances connected to 4G modems and managed by Barracuda CloudGen Firewall and Firewall Control Center. Template-based configuration, automatic network setup, and Barracuda’s TINA VPN enabled rapid rollout, easy troubleshooting, and centralized management; the result was a secure VPN from every bus, fast reliable Wi‑Fi protected from attacks, and a solution that scales across the fleet.
