Case Study: Energisme achieves robust Azure IoT cloud security and GDPR/ISO27001 compliance with Barracuda Networks

New firewall solution protects business-critical data, mitigates risk of cyber attacks

Energisme is a Paris-based IoT SaaS provider for the energy performance sector that processes highly confidential client data on Microsoft Azure. Facing a complex server architecture, the company needed to prevent data loss, mitigate remote code execution (RCE) threats, improve GDPR and ISO 27001 compliance, and replace costly, latency-prone VPN-based VNet peering.

Working with Infinigate (and CVC‑IT for European servers), Energisme deployed Barracuda CloudGen Firewall for Azure, CloudGen WAF and a CloudGen F80 via the Azure Marketplace, implementing UDRs and subnets to enable secure cross-region peering. The solution immediately strengthened inbound request protection, provided daily-updated CVE defenses against RCE attacks, enhanced regulatory compliance, and improved service continuity across its global Azure deployments.
