Case Study: Fibertex achieves uninterrupted production and 400,000kr savings with Barracuda Networks' CloudGen Firewall SD‑WAN

A Barracuda Networks Case Study

Preview of the Fibertex Case Study

New firewall capability stabilises multi-site connectivity, ensures uninterrupted production

Fibertex, a Danish global producer of non-woven textiles with 14 production facilities, faced costly production stoppages when network failures caused sites to halt after 15 minutes—costing roughly 100,000 kr per hour. Heavy reliance on expensive MPLS links, high latency to its ERP in Denmark, and a difficult-to-manage firewall left IT spending hours daily on troubleshooting and threatened product quality and continuous operations.

Working with partner Ezenta, Fibertex deployed Barracuda CloudGen Firewall SD-WAN after a successful proof-of-concept that demonstrated seamless failover and multi-ISP load balancing. The solution is now live at 14 of 22 locations, enables minute‑scale automated deployments, simplifies monitoring with a single management interface, reduced maintenance to a few hours weekly, prevented downtime during line drops, and has saved the company about 400,000 kr so far.
