A Barracuda Networks Case Study
Internetwerx, a Dallas-based MSP serving SMB to enterprise customers, faced frequent sales objections to cloud backup because most clients had limited Internet bandwidth. Backups often ran into production hours or required costly workarounds like reseeding by shipping drives, and some clients couldn’t justify expensive bandwidth upgrades (up to $800/month for fiber).
After partnering with Barracuda MSP (Intronis) and deploying the Barracuda Backup–MSP appliance, Internetwerx took advantage of WAN optimization—deduplication, compression and block-level backups—and centralized management. The result: a 1 TB customer was seeded over the Internet in five days and now completes incremental nightly backups within a two-hour window on a 5 Mbps link, avoiding costly upgrades, cutting management overhead, and converting more than 60% of clients to off-site backups in 18 months.
