Keerpunt Wins Battle Against Spam and Unwanted Web Content with Barracuda’s Email Security Gateway and Web Security Gateway

Keerpunt, a Dutch reintegration firm that handles 12,000–15,000 sensitive employee records each year and supports about 180 staff with a seven-person IT team, faced growing security and compliance pressure. Their legacy Microsoft web filter (in use since 2006) had a complex interface and limited management options, and their older Barracuda Email Security Gateway was no longer meeting current security demands—leaving the small IT team stretched thin.

Keerpunt deployed two Barracuda Email Security Gateway Vx instances (on-premises and in an Amsterdam data center) and a Barracuda Web Security Gateway 310Vx. The appliances were up and running in one to two hours, provided robust protection against spam, viruses, phishing and malware, and added real-time content scanning with user warning pages. The straightforward UI, automatic updates and fast vendor support significantly reduced management effort while improving compliance and overall security.
