Europol and Security Leaders Declare War on Ransomware

No More Ransom is a public-private coalition led by Europol and the Dutch High Tech Crime police, joined by security firms, that created NoMoreRansom.org to help ransomware victims by sharing decryption keys, analysis tools, and education. The team needed a highly available, scalable site that could survive being a high-profile target for immediate and sustained cyberattacks.

They hosted the site on AWS and layered native AWS protections with Barracuda CloudGen WAF, enabling automatic scaling and continuous vulnerability scanning. The setup blocked more than 51,000 attacks within days of launch and has identified and blocked over a million VPN-masked attack requests to date, keeping the site online and performant through sustained assault.
