Fuscoe Engineering, a 170‑employee, employee‑owned civil engineering firm in Southern California (founded 1982), needed stronger security and reliable backups during its Microsoft 365 migration. The firm was hit by an account‑takeover phishing incident and was frustrated by inadequate support from its existing firewall vendor.

Fuscoe deployed Barracuda Email Protection, Cloud‑to‑Cloud Backup, and CloudGen Firewall, using an Outlook “report suspicious” add‑in and the Email Protection incident‑response tools to remove malicious messages in about four minutes. The result was a dramatic reduction in phishing reaching inboxes (Barracuda blocked nearly 27,000 emails, including ~200 advanced threats in 30 days), faster remediation, dependable M365 recovery, and unified management with stronger vendor support.
