Pleo, a Danish fintech that issues smart company cards to more than 20,000 businesses, relied on about 150 DevOps engineers to manage a complex multi-cloud Kubernetes environment. The team struggled with a legacy VPN that required separate profiles for staging and production, insecure profile distribution, slow onboarding and offboarding, and limited oversight of account keys.
