Delivering highperformance and availability for leading insurer Uniqa

Uniqa Group AG, a leading insurer in Central and Eastern Europe with about 21,000 employees serving 17 million customers across 17 countries, faced poor application performance and limited availability of web proxy services across its Czechia and Slovakian datacenters—especially during peak times—threatening employee productivity and business continuity.

Uniqa deployed Barracuda Load Balancer ADC (hardware/virtual/cloud) to provide Layer 4/7 load balancing, TLS offloading, caching, GSLB and application security; the solution was implemented in a day and enabled active‑active multi-node proxy clusters. The result: improved performance, reliability, scalability and employee productivity—no web proxy outages have been recorded since deployment, and additional services (MFA, SMTP relay) were brought under load balancer management.
