A Barracuda Networks Case Study
Cross Hydraulics, a family-owned Australian supplier of imported hydraulic and electrical equipment founded in 1976 with 140 staff and offices across six sites in Australia and New Zealand, needed to move from a centralized data‑center model to a distributed network to support Office 365 and improve performance. That shift created new challenges: internet access and application bottlenecks, increased attack surface across multiple sites, and the need for consistent security, connectivity and backup at each office.
The company deployed Barracuda CloudGen Firewall (with SD‑WAN and high‑availability groups), Barracuda Total Email Protection (Essentials, Cloud Backup, Sentinel, PhishLine and forensics) and a Barracuda Backup Appliance. The result was scalable, secure intra‑office connectivity, stronger protection against phishing and email threats, Office 365 cloud‑to‑cloud and on‑premises backups of critical data, and simpler, centralized management.
