Future Link IT, an Elgin, IL–based MSP founded in 2002 that provides IT support, internet service, and backup/disaster recovery, faced growing security and spam problems after its legacy unified threat management vendor stopped updating its appliances. With spam filtering failing and legitimate mail being quarantined, the company needed a modern, cloud-capable firewall that supported dual internet connections and granular controls without requiring on‑premises Exchange.

Future Link IT replaced the legacy product with Barracuda CloudGen Firewall – MSP (and later added Barracuda Backup/Intronis), cutting email‑issue management from eight hours to 30 minutes per week, restoring a directory in 20 minutes, and enabling the MSP to support more than twice as many customers with no additional staff.
