Betting Company Connects Thousands of Remote Betting Terminals Using Barracuda NG Firewall Network Access Client (NAC)

CBCX is an international provider of betting solutions for sports, races and online games that supplies software for customer-owned equipment as well as custom betting terminals. When rolling out thousands of new terminals across Europe, CBCX found hardware VPN appliances too costly and inflexible—customers often supply their own devices—and needed a centrally managed, reliable and encrypted connection to the datacenter that wouldn’t disrupt occasional Internet or email access.

CBCX deployed Barracuda’s Network Access and VPN Clients connecting to a hot cluster of CloudGen Firewall F800 appliances, managed centrally via the Barracuda Firewall Control Center. The solution enabled per-customer firewall policies, proxy-friendly and fast reconnection behavior, Pathfinder load-aware routing and strong traffic compression, allowing cost-effective, rapid rollouts and reliable support for ~10,000 remote terminals with significantly reduced bandwidth and administration overhead.
