Barracuda Ensures No Downtime and Optimized Line Costs

Rettig ICC, a global manufacturer of heating and indoor climate products with 40 locations and 23 production sites, needed to keep its online warehouse control system and other SaaS apps continuously available and secure. The company had to encrypt WAN traffic (including MPLS), combine MPLS, broadband and 3G/4G uplinks seamlessly, and prevent backup traffic from disrupting business‑critical ERP workflows while improving QoS and cutting line costs.

Rettig deployed Barracuda CloudGen Firewalls at every site and the Barracuda Firewall Control Center to provide secure SD‑WAN with real‑time bandwidth/latency monitoring, automatic failover and performance‑based routing that prioritizes ERP traffic. The rollout halved MPLS usage and line costs, increased WAN availability and stability, reduced network failures, and simplified centralized management and updates—while keeping the infrastructure future‑proof for cloud adoption.
