Cape Air, the largest independent regional airline in the U.S. with about 900 employees, was being inundated with spam and targeted spear‑phishing attacks. A crypto‑locking malware infection and an Office 365 account compromise exposed the airline to credential theft and domain spoofing, putting its customers and partner communications at risk.
Cape Air deployed Barracuda Essentials and Barracuda Sentinel (with DMARC) to augment Office 365, blocking spam, zero‑hour malware, web‑impersonation phishing and domain fraud with rapid, easy deployment and granular control. The result was a dramatic drop in email attacks, near‑elimination of virus/malware delivery, prevention of account compromise and brand spoofing, significantly fewer user complaints and restored peace of mind.
