A Barracuda Networks Case Study
The Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) is a global music school with campuses in the UK, South Africa, Europe and the U.S., serving roughly 1,600 students in the UK and producing large volumes of audio and video content. ACM relied on server-attached tape drives that couldn’t scale with growing storage needs, strained limited IT resources, and left the school without a proactive disaster‑recovery plan.
ACM deployed a Barracuda Backup 490 to centralize and protect media and critical data, gaining efficient replication and cloud‑connected management. The project cut storage by more than 45%, reduced time, resources and bandwidth used for backups, delivered rapid disaster recovery (full restore of critical data and server images in about nine hours), proved one-third the three‑year cost of tape, and provided excellent technical support.
