Patronus is an everyday safety service that modernizes campus emergency calling by using students’ mobile phones instead of outdated blue boxes or landlines. Facing the need to add reliable voice and messaging capabilities and scale quickly across campuses, Patronus turned to Bandwidth and its App Platform for voice and messaging APIs, access to local phone numbers, and carrier-grade control to support future growth.

Bandwidth implemented its voice and messaging API platform, provisioning local numbers, handling emergency 9-1-1 routing, and providing hands-on developer support (including rapid troubleshooting) to get Patronus to market and iterate fast. The results: Patronus is now on 80 campuses, handles dozens of emergency calls per month, is growing users at more than 100% month-over-month, and has requests from an additional 450 campuses—outcomes enabled by Bandwidth’s platform, automation, and ongoing technical collaboration.
