London Metal Exchange Explains Why Convene Met Their Needs For a Board Portal

The London Metal Exchange (LME), the world centre for trading industrial metals and now part of Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing, needed a secure, on‑premise board portal after its previous provider was bought out. With two operating entities, multiple boards and committees, frequent meetings and a parent organisation with a large IT/data warehouse, LME required a solution that preserved data ownership, supported segregated deployments and gave granular user and permission control — needs that led them to choose Convene.

Convene delivered an on‑premise/segregated deployment of its board portal, working closely with LME’s IT to provide master‑password segregation, self‑service user management, fast document handling and streamlined meeting‑pack workflows. The solution improved administrative efficiency, enabled seamless remote working during COVID, avoided an extra headcount, cut paper use by about 40% and delivered estimated savings of roughly 40–50K per annum, demonstrating clear security and operational benefits for LME.
