Birmingham City University Uses Convene to Pursue Sustainability Initiatives

Birmingham City University, a diverse institution of 24,000 students, needed a sustainable, paperless board solution after SharePoint proved unworkable and growing demand from tech‑savvy governors. High mailing and photocopying costs (for example, November board packs of 700–800 pages copied 26 times) and difficulties managing late papers and secure access prompted the university to evaluate vendors and select Azeus Convene’s Convene board portal.

Azeus Convene implemented Convene in November 2018 across the main board, five to six sub‑committees and executive groups, delivering full training, secure access controls, a Review Room, Document Library and written resolution features. The result was a much faster, more secure meeting process, elimination of routine photocopying of large packs, strong user adoption and positive admin feedback — and Birmingham City University is now planning wider roll‑out after reporting clear time, cost and sustainability benefits from Azeus Convene.
