The Wilton Companies is a Mid‑Atlantic commercial real estate firm founded in 1945 that entered a period of rapid growth after 2002, adding properties every 45 days and expanding fourfold from 2003–2008. That growth exposed a heavily paper‑based, labor‑intensive accounts payable process (10,000 to 14,500 invoices) and a risk of losing critical AP knowledge when a long‑time employee planned to retire—while the company needed any new solution to integrate with its SKYLINE accounting system.
Wilton implemented AvidXchange’s AvidInvoice and SKYLINE Payment Automation (AvidPay), using configured workflows that mirrored existing approvals and preserved SKYLINE as the system of record. The automation eliminated paper, gave real‑time visibility and remote access to invoice status, and simplified payments to “a few clicks.” Results include more than 3,000 payments processed in 2013, over $1,300 saved in postage, estimated operational savings of at least $9,000 and quoted annual monetary benefits of about $72,000, plus improved efficiency and capacity to support further growth and better cash forecasting.
