Financial Services Company Saves $2.5M on Utility Expenses

Susquehanna Bancshares, a regional financial services company with about $15 billion in assets and more than 220 offices, was struggling with a decentralized utility-bill process that generated hundreds of invoices per month (growing from ~400 to over 900). Collecting, reviewing, approving and paying those bills across many locations was time-consuming, error-prone and made utility spending hard to control.

AvidXchange implemented its AvidUtility (UBAR) system to centralize bill receipt, capture rate and consumption data, and automate scheduling and payments, while AvidEnergy used that data to run competitive supplier bids and audit bills for errors and better rates. The program reduced invoice processing costs (saving about $675,000 to date) and cut utility expenditures by nearly $2,000,000, delivering combined savings of more than $2.5 million.
