WBL Services and Avaya: ‘MVPs’ for the Biggest Annual Game in American Football

WBL Services, a Seattle-based telecom provider for major sporting events, partners with Avaya to deliver the critical communications backbone for the annual Big Game. Faced with a highly dynamic, large-scale environment — 75,000 in-stadium fans, 1.75 million square feet of venue space, a dozen+ locations (command centers, hotels, practice sites), and stakeholders who are often identified only two weeks before the event — WBL must support both legacy analog and modern IP systems under tight timelines and changing footprints.

WBL deployed Avaya solutions (Avaya Aura Platform 7.0, Communication Manager, Equinox, session border control and IP endpoints) to provide encrypted, one-button ring-down calls, video collaboration and seamless analog/digital integration. In 2018, 15 technicians installed 27 miles of cable, 2,700 Ethernet ports and 150 SIP endpoints across 12 locations, delivering 99.999% reliability, rapid reconfiguration when needed, flawless media and operational coordination (including the President’s call), and repeatable success at other marquee events.
