Technology Keeps the San Jose Earthquakes at the Top of Their Game

The San Jose Earthquakes faced a modern challenge: meet Silicon Valley’s high expectations for seamless, tech-driven experiences and boost attendance, revenue and non-soccer events at their new 18,000-seat Avaya Stadium. They needed solutions that improved every touchpoint—from pre-game parking and entry to in-stadium engagement—while keeping operations simple for a small IT team and enabling data-driven player and business decisions.

Partnering with Avaya, the Quakes built MLS’s first cloud-enabled stadium with stadium Wi‑Fi, a fan engagement wall, a mobile-first app with 100% digital ticketing and transferability, and advanced analytics and videoconferencing. The result: more than 4,000 concurrent Wi‑Fi users per game, social followings up 254% on Twitter and 64% on Facebook, consistent sellouts, new revenue from corporate and community events, streamlined operations and actionable “Fanalytics” that improve both fan experience and team performance.
