A Avaya Case Study
Niagara College, a leading Ontario institution serving about 9,000 full-time and 15,000 continuing-education students, completed a $90M campus redevelopment including a new Applied Health Institute with multiple simulation centres. Instructors needed a way to record practicums, share high-quality video of hands-on training, and make interactive learning more accessible across campuses, so the college launched a competitive search for a comprehensive, cost‑effective video collaboration solution.
Niagara selected Combat Networks to layer Avaya solutions — Avaya Flare, Avaya Scopia videoconferencing and the Avaya Aura platform — onto its existing network. The deployment delivered HD video, recording/streaming, touch‑screen desktop collaboration and unified communications without replacing core infrastructure. As a result, faculty and students can capture and review simulations, bring in remote experts, and run large conferences (up to 120 concurrent participants with unlimited web viewers and capacity to stream hundreds concurrently), boosting collaboration, reducing travel and providing a scalable, cost‑effective platform for innovative learning.
