Blue Ridge Community and Technical College, serving 3,800 students in Martinsburg, WV, relocated into a new 55,000 sq. ft. campus and used the move to modernize its telephony. The college needed a cost‑effective migration from its legacy Nortel system to a unified communications platform that would keep the main and satellite campuses seamlessly connected and provide flexibility for future growth.

Blue Ridge deployed Avaya IP Office with Avaya digital handsets at the new main campus and support for an additional 25 phones at two satellite sites, while integrating existing Nortel IP phones for a phased replacement. An Avaya partner staged the rollout alongside construction; the result was preserved extensions during the move, easier moves/adds/changes, a more user‑friendly administration tool, multi‑technology support (digital, IP, analog), and a scalable system ready for expansion.
